How to Use the Cat Grooming Mat

1. Start with a spot your cat already uses. Instead of placing the mat in a quiet corner, try positioning it beside a sofa arm, rug edge, chair leg, cat tree, or another area your cat already likes to scratch or rub against.
2. Clean and dry the surface before placement. Press down firmly across the mat so the suction cups can grip the smooth surface properly.
3. Encourage your cat to explore. Rub a small amount of catnip or silvervine into the bristles, or move a favorite wand toy across the mat to attract attention.
4. Reward early use. A small treat or praise can help your cat associate the mat with an appropriate scratching and grooming area.
5. Try vertical placement for cats that prefer upright scratching. The flexible cat scratching and grooming mat can also be placed against a clean, smooth vertical surface or the flat side of a suitable cat tree.
6. Clean regularly. Rinse every 1–2 weeks or whenever loose fur and debris begin to build up between the bristles.

Storage & Care

• Rinse under warm running water. For heavier build-up, use a small amount of mild pet-safe soap.
• Gently rub the bristles with your fingers or use a soft brush to loosen trapped fur.
• Allow the mat to air dry completely before placing it back on a surface, as a damp base may not grip as securely.
• Do not use bleach, harsh solvents, boiling water, dishwashers, or tumble dryers.
• Roll or fold the mat for storage, or hang it using the built-in hole. Keep it away from prolonged direct sunlight to help protect the color.
• Inspect the mat regularly and replace it if the bristles tear or the base becomes damaged.
